Donna Ivy Fiske or
better known as Donna Karan is a designer. She was born in Queens, New York October 2,
1948. Donna grew in family who like fashion. That is why she is familiar to the
fashion. In the early 1970s Donna Karan married to Mark and has one daughter
named Gabrielle. In 1978 Donna and Mark divorced. Donna later married again
with artist Stephen Weiss. Weiss died in 2001 due to lung cancer.

Donna started selling
clothes at the age of 14 years. Having graduated from Hewlett High School
(1966) she went to Parsons School Of Design for two years. After graduating at
the Anne Klein, Donna worked as an assistant designer.
In 1971 she was promoted to associate designer. Donna left Anne Klein in 1984.
Together with her husband, Weiss, and Takihyo
Corporation she founded her own company. Her first clothing collection
was released in 1985.
In 1988, Donna founded
Donna Karan New York (DNKY), a label that sells clothing at
affordable prices for young women. She also launched Dnky Jeans men and women
as well as a collection of 'Donna Karan Signature'.
In 1997 she resigned from the CEO and is active in social activities and in the
foundation she founded, the Urban Zen Initiative until now.
