Zhang Ziyi is a Chinese
national actress. She was born in Beijing, China on February 9, 1979.
She began her career in the film since 1996. Her first film debut was
"Touching Starlight" (1996). Furthermore, when she was 19 years old
she got an offer from director Zhang Yimou to star in a movie called 'The Road
Home "(1999). Apparently the film won the Silver
Bear Award at the 2000 Berlin Film Festival.

Ziyi's success
increasingly taken into account when starring in her third film titled Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (2000). This film
managed her to get the Independent Spirit's Best Supporting Actress Award, The
Toronto Film Critic's Best Supporting Actress Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe
Awards 2001 Awards 2006. Ziyi then moved to Hollywood. Her first starring film
is ' Rush Hour 2 ' with a senior actor Jackie
Chan. Other successful films of her are including 'Hero' (2002), 'Purple
Butterfly' (2003) and ' Memoirs of a Geisha '
(2005).
