Christine
Hakim who has full name
Herlina Natalia Christine Hakim is a senior and the leading
actress in Indonesia. She was born in Kuala Tungkal, Jambi, December 25,
1965. Her parents were descendants of a mixture of Minangkabau, Aceh, Banten,
Java, and Lebanon. She married Edo Eduard Jeroen Lezer. But unfortunately at this
age are not young anymore she had not had children.

Christine began her
career since 1973 through the film First Love. Of the film image she won her Piala Citra in Indonesia Film
Festival 1974 in Surabaya. Christine is known to have very good acting
so often praised. She never played the character of an
antagonist because she was looking for a fitting with her character.
Christine became Indonesia's first actress to be a jury of the Cannes
International Film Festival 55th in 15 to 26 May 2002 along with
Hollywood star Sharon Stone, Michelle Yeoh and director David Lynch. She also
became the first Indonesian actress who played in the
Hollywood film entitled Eat Pray Love
with Julia Roberts in Bali.
Christine earned
several awards such as Piala Citra as Best Actress of 8 times, Nikkei Asia Prizes award in
field of culture from the Japanese newspaper Nikkei Shimbun, Satyalancana Wira
Karya and
Bintang Budaya Parama Dharma. She also became an ambassador
of the UN for education (UNICEF).
