Anna Kournikova is a Russian professional tennis
player. She was born in Moscow, Russia, on June 7, 1981. She has been
playing tennis since the age of 9 years and was educated at the tennis Nick
Bollettieri's famed Florida tennis academy. She was a young tennis player who
has ever won several international junior tennis
tournaments and also she was declared the Junior
European Champion and Junior World Champion in
1995.
In 1996, Kournikova achieved the 4th round of the Unites
States Open and three years later she got the semi finals of Wimbledon. That
was a good beginning because the next competition she won Grand Slam doubles titles together with her partner, Martina Hingis.
Kournikova is a player with many singles tournaments but she never won
in those all tournaments. She played in 130 singles tournaments, got four times
finals, but she never winning. It showed us that she spent the bulk of her career in tennis ranked out of the top thirty. However,
she is still famous until today due to her bright career
in modeling and has a good personal life. The media often focused on her
romantic liaisons with such famous celebrities as pop star Enrique Iglesias and Sergei Fedorov a hockey player. She
completely retired from the WTA tour and she focuses on charity events.
