Barbara Walters is a
journalist from United States. She is known after
appearing on the morning show named Today, a speech named The View, the evening
news magazine 20/20 and ABC evening news program. Walters was born in
Brookline, Massachusetts, USA, September 25, 1929 with full name
Barbara Jill Walters. She was married three times, first with by Robert Henry Katz
(1955-1958), the second with Lee Guber (1963-1976) and the last with Merv
Adelson (1986-1992). She was blessed with a son named Jacqueline Dena Guber,
from Lee Guber.
Walter got her schools in Fieldston and Birch Wathen in New York and
Miami Beach high school. She earned a BA in English from Sarah Lawrence
College. Walters worked as a publicist at Tex Mccrary and as a writer at CBS
news. In 1961, she was accepted as a writer and researcher on The Today Show on
NBC. Then her position rose to the Today Girl fashion and lifestyle on The
Today Show. After the show host Frank McGee died, Walters was appointed as the
first female host of the show.
In during 1976-1978, Walters appointed to be anchor person in the ABC
evening news with Harry Reasoned. She also became the anchor of The View programs.
Walters became the first woman assigned as one of the
evening news anchor on the U.S. television network.
