Amy Lee is a singer,
songwriter and pianist
of classical piano from the United States. She is the lead
singer of Evanescence, a rock band. Lee was born in Riverside,
California, USA, December 13, 1981 with full name Amy Lynn Lee. She was born to
John Lee, a DJ & TV Personality and Sara Cargill. Lee married a therapist
named Josh Hartzler on May 6, 2007.

Lee studied classical piano since she was nine years old. She formed
the band with Ben Moody after meeting at the Youth Camp. They recorded two EPs,
Evanescence EP in 1998 and the Sound Asleep EP, known as the Whisper EP in
1999. In 2000, Evanescence recorded the longer EP Origin.
Evanescence recorded their first major album entitled Fallen in 2003.
The album was awarded by 6 times Platinum, for 43 weeks on the Billboard Top 10 and got successful
in the market with sold more than 12 million
copies. Their next album is Anywhere But Home was released in 2004 and The Open Door was released in
2006.
Lee, together with her band has won Grammy Awards (2004) category of Best Hard Rock Performance through the song Bring Me to Life and Evanescence was awarded with Best
New Artist at that time.
