Takako Matsu is
an actress and singer
from Japan. She was born in Tokyo, June 10, 1977 with the original name Takako
Fujima. After passing the natori exam,
she received the name Matsumoto Koka. She was the youngest of Kabuki family and
also family heir of Nihon Buyo. Matsu is known to be expert in playing piano
and fun to drive.

Matsu began her career in acting by
playing on stage when she was 16 years old. She appeared as an actress in a
play Ninjo Banashi Bunshichi Mottoi in Tokyo. Her debut as an actress on a
television started in 1994 to serve as Hino Tomiko in the Taiga drama NHK Hana
No Ran. Then in 1995 she got the main role in drama titled Kura. After that, her
name was known and got public attention in Japan.
In 1996, Matsu became the youngest announcer
in the history of New Year's Eve music show NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. Then
in 1997 she began started a career as a singer. She
has released 12 albums, 20 singles and three times a concert tour around Japan.
Matsu has been awarded by the Golden Arrow, Japan Gold Disc Award and the Japan
Academy. She also published a book and photo essay called Matsu No Hitorigoto
(2003).
